1st Workshop
 

REPORT ON
Accreditation Training Program (ATP)
In collaboration with The Center for International Private Enterprises (CIPE)

 EgSAE held its 1st training program for 2006 during the period from 3 till 6 February 2006 at the Ramses Hilton Hotel – Cairo, as one of the workshops towards successful completion of associations’ accreditation training program (ATP)

  The training workshops were:

  1. Business Association Management Training Workshop (core course)

A 2-day workshop on February 3rd & 4th , 2006 from 8:30 am - 5:30 p.m. at the Ramses Hilton Hotel,   –   Ramses Ballroom with Workshop Main Facilitators Senator Fred Whiting & Lt. Governor Carole Hillard and Workshop Co-Facilitators Rania Amin, & Randa Al Zoghbi

 The course covered the Role of Business Associations in the Development of Civil Society, Strategic Planning for Business Associations, Programs of Work for Business Associations, Budgeting and Financial Reporting for Business Associations and Association Governance, Association Bylaws.

  1. Government Relations & Policy Advocacy Training Workshop (specialized course)

A 2-day workshop on February 5th & 6th, 2006 from 8:30 am - 5:30 p.m. at the Ramses Hilton Hotel,   –   Ramses Ballroom with Workshop Main Facilitators Senator Fred Whiting & Lt. Governor Carole Hillard and Workshop Co-Facilitators Mr. Ayman Salah (Executive Director of EJB) & Eng. Fouad Thabet (Chairman of FEDA)

 The course covered Community Economic Development, Role of Business Associations in Advocating Economic Policies, Effective Advocacy Approaches in International Experience  Effective Advocacy Approaches in the Egyptian Experience, Process of Legislative Review and Tracking Legislative Changes, and Building Coalitions and Public Support for Public Policies.

Participants of both workshops came from diversified organsations including chambers, associations, projects federations and centres, all aiming to benefit from CIPE’s association management program and the international experience brought in by the instructors.

Both 2-days workshop began with the participants spelling out their expectations from the workshop and ended with an assessment written multiple-choice test.

 As an outcome of the workshops added to the previously conducted workshops in December 2004 and May 2005, seven executives were accredited and received their certificates from Mr. Hisham Fahmy with the presence of HE Dr. Aly Moseilhy, minister of social solidarity, at a dinner event held at the Grand Hyatt Hotel on the 15th of this month.
