In line with our aim
to enhance the role of Egypt’s associations
and its leaders in the current reform
process, the Egyptian Society for
associations’ executives (EgSAE) hosted
its first special dinner event on
July 18th, 2005 at the Grand Hyatt
Cairo Hotel.
Our guest speakers
and panellists were H.E. Engineer Rachid
Mohamed Rachid (Minister of Industry
& Foreign Trade), Dr. Gamal El Nazer
(Chairman of the Egyptian Businessmen’s
Association EBA) and Mr. Mohamed Mansour
(Chairman US Egypt Council & Chairman
of Lead Foundation).
At its first event,
EgSAE got the support of the various
sectors in Egypt including businessmen,
associations, chambers, organisations,
bankers, lawyers, consultants, hotels,
tourism and press. It was attended by
almost 200 selective key persons covering
all fields.
Mr. Rachid’s speech
was very transparent, straightforward
and compiled. He reiterated on the importance
of the rising role for associations
and private sector in the current reform
process and the necessity for this collectively
working bodies of the private sector
through trade & business associations,
chambers and councils, to be managed
by qualified and well trained calibres.

In his speech, Dr. El Nazer dug into
the past, materialized the present and
envisaged the future, to come to the
conclusion of the important role that
associations should play in the current
reform process.

Mr. Mansour gave a practical example
of how an association can play an effective
role in the society whether in the business
sector or in the community service field.

Mr. Hisham Fahmy, EgSAE’s Chairman
inaugurated the meeting by giving a
brief on EgSAE’s aims, objectives, present
and future plans.
